Ooh yes! A real fire. Right in our yard!
Let me explain.
It was...last Wednesday? Last week sometime. It was 115 degrees outside, and it was about 4:15. Raegan (my sister) went outside to get something out of our garage fridge (which doesn't work anymore, but that's not important) and she saw a bunchy of smoke on our back acres, and all our goats (we have 5) and our dog were running around by our barn. So Raegan called 911 (her first time) and Mom and me went to get the goats and our dog (Zeke). Then a guy and his daughter, who saw the smoke, came over to help us. I got to help put out the fire. !!! But I got a bit of smoke inhalation and dehydration after that-no hospital or anything. Then the Firemen came!! By now the fire on our back acres had spread to both of our neighbors lawns, and the firemen were busy with that. Then, around 5-ish, all the fire was out (but not really, because the next day, our neighbors tree burned down because of the extra fire). The firemen thought maybe the fire was from our electric fence-but it hadn't been working, so maybe not-or from exploded cow manure!!
Well.

ReplyDeleteOh yes! Everythings fine. :) Except our pasture is all charred.... :( Well, the forecast for Sunday is rain, so YAY!!! :D
